Too much of a good thing, is NOT a good thing!

Too much of a good thing, is NOT a good thing!

Over the past 6 years of working in Energy Medicine I have seen many people get well and I have seen many people get more ill.  Why?  Don’t you think that’s a great question?  Don’t you wish I was going to answer it?  Well, I am going to try to give some opinions.  There are reasons WAY above me that also apply.  For some it’s their journey and until they get the lessons there is nothing anyone can do to help them.  However, the good news is those are a small percentage of the population.

Don’t get me wrong.  I am so excited about all the modalities out there and available to help us heal.  I have tried many myself.  Most out of curiosity and some to research what else I might want to do to help my clients, or refer them to other centers.

Here is a sad, but true story of a client.  She is now passed.  She came to me several years ago after she had two root canals.  One on her stomach meridian and one on her ovary meridian.  Shortly after was diagnosed with ovarian and stomach Cancer.  Coincidence?  You decide.  She did really well with sessions and was getting better, Cancer markers were down and she had more energy (Disclaimer: not making any claims here).  She was also going the Western medicine route with chemotherapy and radiation as well as diet changes.  She seemed really happy and hopeful.  Then she got impatient and decided to go to another country and try a modality there.  She stopped coming to see me for about a year or more and then when I saw here again she looked worn out and drained.  I was shocked.  I asked her what happened.  She informed me of all the other modalities she had tried, and the new / experimental supplements she used to try to get better fast.   She was going downhill so she came back to see me and we did several months of sessions once again.   I encouraged her to stop the other modalities and unproven supplements so as not to confuse her body.  I suggested she do one thing at a time and let the goodness of each one integrate and work properly.  She agreed.  She was happy and hopeful again.   You can guess what I am going to say next.  She went off to yet another country and did some other “treatments” and I didn’t see her for several months.

The third time she came back for help was the worst.  I had an experience I have never had before with her.  I looked at her face and it was gone (like a black shadow / aura from the neck up).  I thought I was having an optical migraine because I used to have vision loss when I had migraines in my past.  I looked away and then looked back again and saw the same image.  It scared me.  I called one of my associates and he told me that she was dying quickly and she would not last another two months.  He ended up being right.  She asked me what he said.  I didn’t know what to say and felt it to be irresponsible to tell her the exact words because we all have free will and he may have been wrong.  She was clearly on a journey.  She was considering another international trip for more healing and I simply told her that she should go see her family and enjoy her life.

What I am hoping to impart on people is that the body is a precious instrument and you can confuse it and do too much to it.  Please enjoy all the lovely modalities in our world, but give them the respect they deserve.  Don’t do one thing after another day in / week in and out.  It’s not healthy and it makes the body spin out of control and rebel.  Take a break from doing things for a while.  Don’t keep pounding the body all the time.  Honor it, love it and listen to it.  It does and will communicate with you.  Listen to your practitioner / healer and ask them how long before their work integrates and follow the protocol they give to you.  To be truthful, don’t go do these wonderful things if you aren’t going to follow the protocol and respect the healing.  That’s just a waste of your time and the practitioner / healers time.

Remember, there are no magic technologies or miracle healers out there.  You have to be willing to do the work.  We are all here to assist you on your healing journey, but we can’t do it for you.

What to expect from some types of alternative healing?

If you’ve never had any sort of energy work done before, then you may be in for a few surprises in terms of how your body is going to react.  Everyone is different so please don’t EXPECT anything just roll with it.

Your very first session

Be sure to come hydrated, but not so much so you will have to use the restroom during the session.

Dress comfortable (no restricting clothing) and plan to take off excessive amounts of jewelry.  Wedding rings or keepsakes are part of your energy so they are ok to stay on.

If this is your very first session, then don’t be surprised if you start feeling some detoxing or effects in the 24 to 48 hours beforehand.

**When your body knows it is going to be able to clear its system energetically, it often start the process a little early.

Physical and Emotional Symptoms

You can expect the following physical symptoms before, during and after energy healing sessions:

  • Increased urination
  • Yawning
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Blurry vision
  • Your bowels moving
  • Passing wind or farting
  • Burping
  • Temporary fatigue
  • Your tummy bubbling
  • In extreme shifts, you may find yourself nauseous or vomitting as the energy leaves your system.  I can tell you this isn’t the norm for clients.
  • Sweating and night sweats
  • Period changes
  • Disruption in your sleep patterns
  • Mood swings
  • Vivid dreams
  • Dizziness

Why does this happen?

According to holistic and energy teachings, everything that happens or processes in your system needs to happen on the level of all your bodies.

To keep it simple let’s just say there are four bodies: spiritual, mental, emotional and physical.

The last body to process any energetic change is your physical body. Most often, the final step is a diaphragm release to small intestine, which causes the tummy bubbling sound and effect.

From the small intestine, the old energy and beliefs are expelled from your system using normal excretory channels such as urination, defecation, sweating, your period, lymph and more.  Make sense?

THE KEY: Drink lots of water and replenish minerals that will be lost with urination and detoxing.

When your body is busy with this last layer of expulsion, it utilizes water to flush the toxins from your system.

It is important that you drink a lot of water before, during and after sessions. It will facilitate shifting more quickly and make it easier on your body, AND most of the above symptoms / side effects won’t happen when you are flushing properly.

Too much alternative healing can harm…

Too much alternative healing can harm…

Did you know that piling on the alternative healing or even piling on the supplements can be harmful?  Well, they can.   People think if they do healthy things it can’t be harmful, but too much of a good thing can be harmful.  Heck, too much of anything can be harmful.

Each and every alternative healing modality has a protocol.  You should inquire about the protocol to ensure you are using the modality properly.  We tend to have busy schedules and no patience for healing; however, that mentality can be harmful.  People have a day off so they try to cram in all their healing work in one day.  I have heard it called a spa day or “ME” day.  They go for their massage, acupuncture and chiropractic all in one day and that’s NOT ok.  Those appointments need to be spread out.  The body can’t process all those changes in one day.  It needs time to digest each and every one of those appointments.  This is very important information to know.

We all think, “oh I can handle it”.  Right?!   I am guilty of that thought too.  It’s not about being strong or healthy.  It’s about allowing the body to process information before adding more.  I have given the analogy of digesting food.  You allow breakfast to digest before you eat lunch. Energy work is the same concept.  Allow one to digest before doing another.  Here is another analogy.  Cramming for tests…scientific studies show that cramming for tests does not help you retain information.  Studying the material over time and REALLY learning it helps you retain the information.  Energy work is about training the body and providing it information for healing.  Doing too much in a short time is like cramming for the test, your body won’t retain the information as effectively as if you did the energy work over time and allowed the body to REALLY learn what you are trying to teach it.  Make sense?
